INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 2-3 scoops of vanilla colostrum
- Crushed candy cane shavings
DIRECTIONS:
- Chill the Ice Cream Maker Bowl: Make sure the freezer bowl of your Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker has been in the freezer for at least 24 hours before starting.
- Prepare the Ice Cream Mixture: In the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker bowl, combine 1 cup whole milk and 2 cups heavy cream. Add 1 tsp peppermint extract and stir until the mixture is well combined. Add 2-3 scoops of vanilla colostrum, stirring thoroughly until the colostrum is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour before churning. This step helps improve the texture of the ice cream.
- Churn the Ice Cream: Once the mixture is chilled. Turn on the machine, and pour the chilled mixture into the frozen bowl. Let it churn for about 20-25 minutes, or until it thickens to a soft-serve consistency.
- Add Candy Cane Shavings: During the last 5 minutes of churning, slowly add in crushed candy cane shavings. Let the machine finish churning until the candy canes are evenly mixed into the ice cream.
- Freeze the Ice Cream: Once churning is complete, transfer the soft ice cream into an airtight container. Use a spatula to press it down and ensure it's packed tightly. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until the ice cream firms up to your desired consistency.
